Pfalzgraf takes a step forward with production site expansion

In an official groundbreaking ceremony, Pfalzgraf kicked off construction for the expansion of its existing production facility at the beginning of January. This event not only marks another milestone in the company's history but also emphasizes a clear commitment to growth, sustainability and regional development.

The existing production site will be expanded by 6,000 square meters to accommodate the growth of the cooling and cutting technology as well as packaging departments. This expansion is expected to result in an approximately 60% increase of production capacity. The company, known for producing high-quality baked goods for in the European out of home market in one of the most state-of-the-art facilities in Europe, anticipates a construction period of 16 months. The investment volume is approximately 20 million euros. "The rising demand for our products requires an upgrade of our production capacities", says Dirk Brünz, managing director of Pfalzgraf Konditorei GmbH.

The new building will be constructed according to the latest resource-saving standards and using state-of-the-art technologies. The design of the expansion was developed in collaboration with Schmelzle & Partner Architects, who has already realized the existing production site and administratiuon buildings. The new construction will seamlessly integrate with to the clear architecture of the existing production facility with its characteristic curves.
